How Do I Get To Valley?
Valley Baptist Church is located at 3328 Highway 36 West in Searcy, which means that we are on the west side of Searcy, almost at the end of Beebe-Capps Boulevard. (Click here for map and driving directions)
Where Do I Park?
You may park anywhere you wish on our campus. We have plenty of parking on all sides of our facilities. However, we have designated several special parking spaces just for guests in front of our worship center.
How Do I Dress?
Please dress comfortably. Some folks do wear their "Sunday best", but many people wear more casual and comfortable clothes. Don't worry about what you wear as long as it is modest - just come prepared to have a wonderful time of worship and fellowship.
What Do I Need To Bring?
We would suggest that you might bring a Bible with you to follow along in our Bible Study and Worship Services. If you do not have a Bible, one will be available in the pew rack in front of you. Our Pastor, James Hays, will use the Bible in every message he preaches.
When Do I Need To Arrive?
Our Sunday morning worship services begin at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m., while our Sunday School starts at 9:15 a.m. Try to arrive 10 minutes early to give yourself plenty of time to park and enter our facilities.
How Do I Find the Worship Center or My Sunday School group?
Greeters will be at every entrance to help you get to where you need to be. They will give you directions, or they will be more than happy to personally walk with you to your desired location.
Where Do My Children Go?
Valley has excellent preschool and children's ministries. We offer preschool care during our worship services from bed babies through three years old. We also have a wonderful Children's Church ministry for your four year old through 3rd graders during both our 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services.
Also, we have outstanding Sunday School classes for your children, regardless of their age, that are led by excellent teachers who are committed to teaching your children the Bible, while at the same time, making sure they feel secure and cared for while they are here at Valley Baptist Church.
How Do I Become a Christian?
To become a Christian, you need to act upon these basic biblical truths:
- God loves you. Because of God's love for all people, He desires that you have unbroken fellowship with Him. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:1-5)
- You are a sinner. All of us are sinners in that we have chosen to go our own way instead of being obedient to God. (Romans 3:10, 23)
- Sin separates you from God. Sin forms a barrier that prevents you from entering into a restored fellowship with a Holy God. (Isaiah 59:1-2)
- You can't save yourself. There is nothing you can do to repair that broken relationship with God. As sinners, we are morally bankrupt. (Ephesians2:8-10)
- God sent His Son, Jesus, to remove the sin barrier. Jesus died for your sins, taking your punishment on Himself. (Isaiah 53:4-6; II Corinthians 5:21; I Peter 2:24)
- You may receive Jesus as your Savior and become a citizen of God's kingdom through repentance and faith. Jesus began His earthly ministry with this announcement: "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the Gospel." (Mark 1:15) We repent when we turn away from our sin; we believe in the Gospel when we turn to Jesus as our risen Lord. (I Corinthians 15:1-8) The preaching of this message of repentance ad forgiveness is Christ's commission to His church. (Luke 24:44-48)
- Through prayer, you may call upon Jesus to save you right now. Accept God's verdict that you are a sinner. turn from your sins and ask Him to forgive you. Invite Jesus into your life as Savior and Lord. Thank Him for entering your life, and ask Him to help you openly confess Him as your Lord. (Matthew 10:32-33; Romans 10:9-13)
